ORIGIN OF TAFT BUILDERS
TAFT Builders began in 1952 when our Grandfather (Dixon Terry) managed the furniture factory for Zion’s Craft Village in Springdale, UT. At the peak of Zion’s Craft Village it employed over 200 local Springdale and Rockville residents. Dixon soon fell for Connie Madsen, daughter of Zion’s Craft Village owner (Julius Madsen) and were married in St. George. Dixon soon after built his own restaraunt and gift shop “Eagles Nest Trading post” at the entrance to Zion Park. Dixon later moved to Las Vegas and began building and selling homes in the booming home market. Dixon’s son Vince Terry followed in his fathers footsteps building custom homes and commercial structures in Las Vegas and all over Utah. Vince’s sons Josh and Michael have a long history building custom homes, commercial barns and custom cabinets. Together they can help make your building experience exciting and stress free. *Background image from 1952 “Saturday Evening Post” showing Dixon Terry measuring the end of a Log at Zion’s Craft Village.
Vince brings years of construction wisdom and connections to the best subcontractors. He likes taking the side by side out to feel the wind in his hair and is always ready for an outdoor movie night with friends and family.
Josh manages projects and has a keen eye for design. He’s great at understanding your vision and translating it into a house you can call home. He also enjoys supporting the musical theater talent of his 5 daughters.
Mike is a mechanical engineer and financial guru. He runs the numbers and keeps us on track with the calendar. When not on the job you can find him hunting for his next trophy deer or elk.
